Officially introducing their new flagship over-ear headphones, the Beats Studio Pro, is Apple-owned audio firm Beats. This release follows the venerable Beats Studio3 Wireless, which arrived in September 2017, six years after its predecessor.
Since Samuel Ross signed on Beats in late June, the Studio Pro marks the first product release. According to Beats, Ross and his design studio SR_A helped to shape the device.
Design & Comfort
Four stylish hues make up the Studio Pro: Black, Deep Brown, Navy Blue, and Sand Gray. Maintaining its iconic look, the headphones have improved UltraPlush ear cushions and integrated leather materials, meant for "all-day wear comfort." Inside the headband is a faint "Designed in Los Angeles" writing.
Technical Requirements and Weight
With 40mm bespoke drivers, the Studio Pro weights 260g - exactly like its predecessor Studio3 Wireless and considerably less than AirPods Max's 384.8g. These drivers are built to produce "almost zero distortion even at high volumes."
Focusing on sustainability
Attracting the ecologically sensitive Generation Z, the Studio Pro shows great dedication to sustainability:
- Driver magnets make use of just recycled rare earth materials
- Circuit board solder consists of 100% recycled tin
- Packaging is manufactured from 100% fiber-based materials, mostly eco-friendly bamboo and bagasse fibers
- All materials are derived from recycled materials and sustainably managed forests
Reflecting Beats' development under Apple's ownership while preserving its unique design legacy, this release marks a major leap forward in both audio technology and environmental responsibility.
